|Wunderlich Securities Acquires Assets from Sanders Morris Harris|
On November 30, Gary K. Wunderlich, Jr., CEO of Wunderlich Securities announced the acquisition of three wealth management branches from Sanders Morris Harris (SMH) which is exiting the retail branch office business. The acquisition closed as schedule on December 14. Thirty-five individuals have joined Wunderlich, including 27 Financial Advisors with over $800 million in assets under administration. “SMH is a well-known regional firm and we are thrilled to have these experienced advisors and their clients join our firm,” said Gary Wunderlich. He added, “They fit very well into our geographic footprint and fit even better into our culture.” The acquisition will add a new Private Client Group branch in midtown Manhattan, Tulsa, OK, and add eight investment professionals to Wunderlich's existing Houston office. With these new offices, Wunderlich operates from 25 offices in 15 states.
Wunderlich expanded its Houston office in 2012 moving to new space on Post Oak Parkway which houses the Private Client Group, Investment Banking and Research.
